Superintelligence is probably the wrong tool, aimed at the wrong bottleneck, and being used as a moral shield for an unsafe AI race.
Cancer is not primarily blocked by “not enough intelligence.” Cancer is extraordinarily complex, individualized, dynamic, and co-evolves with the body. As oncology has advanced, the disease has looked more complex, not simpler. A tumor is not just “one rogue mutated cell”; it involves immune dynamics, blood supply, heterogeneity within the tumor, and patient-specific biology.
